Concussion Alliance intern receives "Exceptional Student Award" from the WA State Public Health Association

Lori Mae Yvette Calibuso Acob, an intern in our summer 2021 Concussion Education & Advocacy Internship Program, has garnered the “Exceptional Student Award” from the Washington State Public Health Association (WSPHA). Congratulations to Lori; this honor is so well deserved!

This award honors a student in public health or a related field who has shown leadership and commitment to public health in the areas of advocacy, research, academia, and/or community involvement. The nominee may be an undergraduate or graduate-level student.

Lori is a senior and is earning her Bachelors in Public Health - Global Health at the University of Washington School of Public Health.

This annual award program sponsored by the WSPHA “recognizes distinguished individuals for their contributions to improving the public’s health in Washington. Nominations for the annual awards are solicited from our membership and the broad public health community.”

During her internship with Concussion Alliance, Lori wrote for the Concussion Update Newsletter and co-authored our new page on Autonomic Nervous System (ANS) Dysfunction. She also created the medical illustrations for the ANS dysfunction page and as well as illustrations of the endocrine system for the Hormone Therapy page.
