To help Nebraska teachers take care of their students who sustain a concussion, the

Brain Injury Alliance of Nebraska and the Nebraska Concussion Coalition have contracted for a state-wide subscription to the Get Schooled on Concussions program. According to an NPR article, “Based on a 2018 survey, 50 percent of Nebraska teachers surveyed said they don’t know how to take care of students with concussions.” Nebraska can access the program at no cost at this link, using the password TACTnebraska2020

Although there are concussion return-to-play laws in all fifty states, there are no standardized return-to-learn regulations. To fill this gap, Karen McAvoy, PsyD, and Brenda Eagan-Johnson, EdD, CBIS created the Get Schooled on Concussion program, which is available for free to public and private school educators in ten states (Alabama, Colorado, Hawaii, Iowa, Missouri, Nebraska, Rhode Island, South Caroline, Tennessee, West Virginia).
