Linda & Bob Dahl
Expert Guest Speakers
Linda and Bob Dahl are the parents of Matthew Dahl. Matt died in February 2019 at the age of 24, as a result of late onset symptoms of a traumatic brain injury (TBI) he experienced when he was five years old. Upon Matt’s death at Linda and Bob’s request his brain was accepted by the University of Washington Biorepository and Integrated Neuropathology (BRaIN) Research Lab. Researchers there, led by Dr. C. Dirk Keene, analyzed Matt’s brain, and found significant neurodegeneration that validated the symptoms Matthew described but could not be diagnosed while he was alive.
Since Matthew’s passing Bob and Linda have become strong advocates for the work being done by UW BRaIN. They are retired and live in Kirkland Washington with Matt’s dog Otto. Linda is writing a memoir titled Matt’s Brain, telling Matt’s story, with Bob providing co-author editing support.
