Maya is studying Kinesiology and Linguistics at Western University in Canada. Throughout her studies, Maya has been involved with Concussion Awareness Western as a “neuroblog” executive dedicated to promoting education around concussion research and treatment and concussion awareness in society. Maya is also part of a competitive dance team at Western, and her experience in the arts has made her passionate about concussion education in artistic sports & the performing arts. Some of her other interests include linguistic/communicative aspects of concussion, diagnosis innovations & biomarkers, and rehabilitation strategies. Maya is looking forward to learning more about concussion as a whole and furthering her engagement in the concussion advocacy effort.
