Volunteer

Angela Romeo serves as a consultant on disability topics for Concussion Alliance. Angela grew up in Seattle, Washington as a neurodivergent kid navigating public school. At the age of 15, they developed a chronic illness that led to a reduction of mobility. Angela is now a part-time wheelchair user (a power chair named Celia) and also enjoys getting out and about with their rollator (Betty May) or their many (as-yet unnamed) canes. In their professional life Angela works as a paraeducator for the Bellingham School District in Northwest Washington, as well as working on starting a business in disability advocacy and consulting. Angela can also be found volunteering on the Washington Governor's Committee on Disability Issues and Employment, as well as coaching their local wheelchair basketball team. In their free time Angela can often be found at the beach, tidepooling; at the gym working out and playing adaptive sports; or on the couch with a good show, snacks, and friends.
