Elena is a class of 2023 student at Carleton College, planning to pursue a biology or psychology major with a neuroscience minor. In the future, she would like to continue to graduate school and study neuroscience or animal behavior to better understand the mind. Elena is also interested in taking a social justice perspective with her studies, ensuring that communities of color are pursuing science degrees and getting the same opportunities as other groups. As an intern for the Concussion Alliance, she hopes to learn about the neuroscience behind concussions and write about the impact that concussions have on marginalized groups.

Outside of her love of science and the brain, Elena enjoys playing the viola, kayaking, being out in nature, fighting for social justice, and hanging out with friends (in a socially distanced way, of course).
